Gidwitz Mails Again
Stressing they are the ones that “can carry the ethics torch and contrast with the pay-to-play politics that have led to the erosion of public trust in our state government.”
They pledge to fix the state budget end the raids on the pension funds and bring fiscal discipline to the state.
“And we are in lockstep in our desire to bring true reforms to our party instead of relying on entrenched politicians who offer lip service as they allow some of the old guard to greedily plunder and pillage their way through the system with backroom deals,” they write.
“Our secret weapon against this looming onslaught (of our opponents) is the fact that the core of the Republican Party wants reform…not the hollow promises of those who stand to enrich themselves through ‘public’ service,” the two continue.
“If you agree with us, please consider giving us your support. We won’t let you down.”
Enclosed is an ABC Channel 7 text of a December 7th Andy Shaw story and the John Kass column of December 7, entitled “A marriage of inconvenience for GOP.”
When I reprinted a Tribune article in 1995, the charge was a penny a reproduction. I wonder if they paid the Tribune for this reprint.
