Oberweis Seeks Email Addresses, Claims Polls Show Two Way Race
Oberweis asks for an “eight pack” of names. From the graphic, I assume that bottled milk used to come eight to a carrier.
He wants contributions as well, pointing out that a January report must be filed detailing those made before the end of the year.
The polls Oberweis cites are the WGN-Chicago Tribune’s, which showed Judy Baar Topinka with 31%, Oberweis with 15%, 7% for Bill Brady and Steve Rauschenberger, 5% for Joe Birkett and 4% for Ron Gidwitz.
He also cites a state Republican Party poll that shows Topinka at 39%, Oberweis at 12%, Rauschenberger at 6%, Gidwitz with 3½% and Brady at 3%. Oberweis observes that he has more than the three others combined. He also notes the limited nature of the poll, which, I would suggest makes it of dubious reliability.
Oberwies says that two 6th congressional district candidates have shared survey results with him. Both show “we are either neck and neck with or narrowly edging Topinka amongst likely GOP voters.”
