Bartels Switches from “Independent” to “Commonsense” Conservative - Address Side (Click to Enlarge)
Here's the first indication that a "makeover" may be in process.
Instead of saying "Independent Conservative," now the slogan has the phrase "Commonsense Conservative." Certainly, there are "independent" conservatives in the general election, not to mention "independent" Republicans, plus just plain "independents."
Maybe there aren't as many people who are planning to vote in the GOP primary as consultants might have thought when they first conceived the campaign plan.
