Does the GOP Need a Woman To Beat a Women in the 8th Congressional District?
Businesswoman Teresa Bartels and attorney Kathy Salvi are the two women in the race. Salvi starts with the advantage because of the Salvi men who have run within the confines of the 8th congressional district:
Both women are Catholic. Both families have strong ties to Mundelein’s Carmel High School.
Kroh notes that Salvi showed “a bit of the x factor, that visceral fire in the belly that often eludes candidates” at a Woodstock candidates forum. Of course, Salvi has been saying that she had the “fire in her belly” since she decided to run.
