Inside McSweeney’s 8½ by 11 card stock mailing is a picture of the Capitol at dusk. Above it McSweeney vows, “Unwavering leadership to strengthen our economy.”
Below he attacks the deficit and pledges to “eliminat(e) unnecessary spending” using “his common sense approach.” He compares what happens to small business and family budgets, pointing out that Americans “make the necessary cuts to get by” and says he “believes it’s time for Congress to lead by example.”
