“The State of Illinois is in a state of corruption, a state of financial mismanagement, and a state of confusion, but there’s good news…reform is on the way.”
With these words, Jim Oberweis, Republican candidate for governor stands in stark contrast to Governor Blagojevich and today’s State of the State address.
“This governor claims to want to spend billions of taxpayer dollars to put people to work, but his policies have been terrible for Illinois jobs. This governor has increased taxes and fees on Illinois small businesses leaving Illinois as a laggard in new job creation. This governor has increased the bonded indebtedness of the state and skipped billions of dollars in payments to our state employee pension funds, mortgaging the economic wellbeing of future Illinoisans. In a drive to win votes using the peoples’ money, this governor has given away everything from free healthcare to subsidized home loans for illegal aliens. Try as he might, Governor Blagojevich just gave his last State of the State speech, because the voters of Illinois are looking for a new chief executive, one who is qualified and who will answer the call for reform,” concluded Oberweis.
Jim Oberweis is available for comment by calling his headquarters in North Aurora at 630-801-5370.
