Randall Stufflebeam Post-Primary Election Statement
March 22, 2006
Congratulations to all the winners of the primary elections!
Now that Rod Blagojevich has been nominated by the Democrats and Judy Baar Topinka has been nominated by the Republicans for governor, Illinois citizens are faced with the left wing and the right wing of the same bird, flying the wrong direction.
Once the dust settles and the smoke clears from the primaries, Illinois conservatives are going to be faced with the fact that the two major parties have left them with NO REPRESENTATION. Because of this, it is now time to consider a conservative third party candidate.
For years the two major parties have perpetrated the lie that a third party candidate can’t win. What these two major parties don’t want you to know (especially the Republicans) is that our very own Abraham Lincoln was elected to the presidency as a third party candidate. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican elected as president of the United States. It spelled the end for the Whig party under circumstances not so dissimilar to what we are facing today between the Republicans and the Democrats – a blurring of the lines to the point of not being able to distinguish the difference.
With Blagojevich (Democrat), Topinka (Republican), and Whitney (Green) as opponents in the November elections, I WILL BE THE ONLY pro-life, pro-family, pro-2nd-Amendment, pro-veteran, anti-corruption, anti-illegal-immigration candidate on the ballot.
If you are unhappy with the results of the primary at any level – local, county, or state – there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with a party that still believes in principles and that our state and U.S. constitutions should be followed. Also, there is still time to decide to run for election in the November elections as a Constitution Party candidate. We start gathering signatures March 28.
Again, congratulations to all the winners of the primary elections! I look forward to seeing many of you while out on the campaign trail over the next 230 days. After that, I look forward to working with the winners of the General Elections to restore trust, confidence and accountability in the government of the state of Illinois.
May God bless American and the state of Illinois
