Community Supporters Needed

After over a year of development the WLCDC has acquired funding to purchase a building and has created partnerships within the county to fund a significant portion of the ongoing costs of a community technology center. In addition to providing the people of the Wonder Lake area with unique services, this will also prove to be a boon to economic development as at least 2000 people will be drawn to Hancock Drive area on a regular basis during the course of a year. But, to get it done we need YOUR support.

What kind of Support do we need?

We need all kinds of Sponsors in-kind and cash: (All donations tax deductible)

• CASH- We have staff to hire and electrical bills to pay.

• FOOD and BEVERAGES- on any given afternoon we may have 30 hungry/thirsty teenagers in our charge. Ideal for grocery or restaurant sponsorship.

• TOOLS- We need all kinds of tools from hand drills to industrial grade machine tools.

• Clothing- We need team uniforms for our robotics program (T-shirts and camo-pants)

• OFFICE SUPPLIES, PRINTING and SWAG- We have an organization to run. We need to promote our programs to the community.

• No Minimum size donation

1. Food to feed hungry teens- Ideal for anything from a fast food to grocery to a motivated mom.

2. New HVAC system- Ours is shot

3. New Roof- Our leaks very bad

4. “Porta Potties”- Our new facilities are a bit slim on washrooms and we could supplement these with commercial chemical toilets. A waste management firm could supply these items.

5. Plumber or Plumbing Contractor- to help us build better washroom facilities.

6. Beverages- Youth go through huge quantities of bottled water and sports drinks.

7. Rocket Components- Hardware Store or Hobby Shop

8. Lumber & Electrical Supply- home center or trade contractor.

9. Electronics- Radio Shack or hobby shop.

10. T Shirts- Shirt shop or ad specialty company

11. Color Laser Printer (and toner)- Office supply company for producing collateral materials

12. Signs- Sign Shop to produce banners

13. Trailer- to haul around our projects and Bots: Trailer Sales company.

14. Transportation- We need an old van that runs reliably: Car Dealer

15. Carpet- Multiple segments thin & tough carpet for 40’x60’ robotics competition surface.

16. Dumpster- need pick up service from November through May

17. Videos (DVDs)- for our in-house movie collection. Seniors movies will be shown every Tuesday and Thursday. Youth movie nights every Friday night.
