This is how McHenry County State's Attorney Lou Bianchi began his speech to his fund raising dinner at Lake in the Hill's Boulder Hill Country Club last Thursday:

I have an important announcement to make tonight.

For the last few weeks, I have been struggling with an important issue.

I knew without question that it was of utmost importance to share my thoughts with my wife, Jean.

And I did.

I also sought the counsel of my family and a few close friends and of course my campaign manager Nancy Prioletti.

I took some time to reflect on their advice.

This was not an easy decision for me to make, but I know in my heart it is the right thing to do.

I also know that each and every one of you here tonight will be affected by this decision.

And so I want to share with you all here tonight that I have decided and this decision is irrevocable I have decided that I will not…
